Sara Ros Cardoso
Researcher of ICATALIST, her role is focused on searching information and analysis of nature-based solutions for projects, products and services, as well as conducting environmental studies. She is part of an interdisciplinary team involved in national and international projects.
Sara finished her degree studies in Environmental Technologies Engineering at Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Montes, Forestal y Medio Natural of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). At the same university, she has completed a master's degree in Environmental Engineering at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales. Moreover, she has taken courses about Radioactive Waste Management (ENRESA-UPM) and Wastewater Treatment Stations (FACSA-UJI Chair). Furthermore, she has attended a Danish embassy online workshop, EMASESA seminars and Taller Water Academies.
She has worked as an intern sustainability assistant at Instituto Geológico y Minero de España (IGME), where she carried out risk analysis, scientific documentation analysis, comparative studies and field work. She developed her Final Degree Project at IGME, Rehabilitation project of an abandoned tailings impoundment in Portman (Murcia) using technosols, for which she was awarded with honors, and which is published in the UPM repository. During her training, she has performed soil and water quality studies, implementation of air quality models, noise monitoring, Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Impact Assessment.
